Al Heard  Reserve Unit

The Cumming Police Department has an active Reserve Unit made up of members of the community who volunteer their time. These are POST Certified Police Officers who are former Federal Agents, and local business men and women who are former Officers. All potential candidates must undergo a background investigation, interviews and additional pre-employment screening as well as a specialized FieldJack Branson - Reserve Officer 6 Training Program.

Upon acceptance into the Unit, Cumming Police provides equipment and training opportunities and Reserves can work in the various Divisions in the Department. Reserves may work at community events, assist with Uniform Patrol as necessary or when they can offer their time, and even patrol on bicycle and ATV during special events such as the Cumming Country Fair and the Fourth of July Parade.

Contact the Department for further information or e-mail a resume to police@cummingpd.net
