The Department maintains a Communications Center to provide a local contact for all of our citizens and visitors. The Communications Officers are cross-trained as Detention Officers in the event that a Patrol Officer or Detective makes an arrest. Dispatchers/Jailers are available 24 hours a day at 770-781-2000.

The Records Unit is open between 8 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday. Generally, accident or incident reports are available within three business days after the report is taken. You may pick up a copy of a report during regular business hours (a nominal administrative fee may be involved). The Records Unit also provides fingerprinting, background checks and alcohol serving permits.

Permits can be applied for on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please bring all necessary materials (including a valid picture ID and a social security card) and be prepared to have your picture taken!

In addition to the Records and Communications / Jail Section, Support Services Division also oversees Public Relations, quartermaster and equipment maintenance, hiring, policy as well as other specialized operations of the police department. You may contact Lisa Allen at 770-781-2005 with any questions or to set up a department tour.
